Steven Gerrard (born May 30, 1980) is an English former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, he spent almost his entire career at Liverpool, where he served as captain. Known for his passing, long-range shooting, and leadership, he led Liverpool to victory in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final.
