Richard Marquand was a British film director best known for directing "Return of the Jedi" (1983), the final installment of the original Star Wars trilogy. Born in Cardiff, Wales on September 22, 1937, Marquand passed away in London on September 4, 1987, at the age of 49. His directorial work also included "The Eyes of Laura Mars" (1978).
