A famous samurai of the Azuchi-Momoyama period, known by his nickname Mitsuhide, later renamed Katsuyasu. He was originally a retainer of Oda Nobunaga, but later betrayed him to become a follower of Akechi Mitsuhide. In 1573, he participated in the Honnoji Incident, leading to the death of Oda Nobunaga. Afterward, he opposed Akechi Mitsuhide, leading to the Battle of Takatenaka, where he was defeated and committed seppuku.
