Albert Goodwill Spalding was a significant baseball manager and executive who greatly contributed to the development of the sport. He is most famous for his time as manager of the Chicago White Sox and his subsequent role as president of the National League. Spalding was also a key figure in the creation of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
