Alcee Hastings is an American politician born on September 5, 1936. He served as a U.S. Representative from Florida and also served as a temporary Senator in the United States Senate. Hastings faced impeachment due to allegations of corruption and abuse of power, but was ultimately acquitted by the Senate. Despite this, his work on civil rights and social justice is still recognized.
