Amelia Bloomer (1818-1894) was an American social reformer known for her advocacy of women's rights. Her most famous contribution was the promotion of women's clothing reform, particularly the 'Bloomer suit', a loose-fitting pantsuit designed to increase comfort and freedom for women.
