Ursula Bethell (October 6, 1874 – January 15, 1945) was a prominent New Zealand poet, known for her delicate depictions of nature and everyday life. Born in England, she moved to New Zealand as a child and grew up in Canterbury. Her poetry often features gardens, hills, and seasonal changes, blending personal emotion with philosophical reflection. Her major works include 'The Garden of Verse' and 'Time's Shadow', showcasing her unique observation and linguistic charm. Although not widely recognized during her lifetime, her works were rediscovered in the late 20th century, and she is now hailed as a pioneer of modern New Zealand poetry.
