
Robert Ruark
Robert Ruark (December 29, 1915 – July 1, 1965) was an American author, journalist, and syndicated columnist, best known for his books on African hunting and adventure. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, he studied at the University of North Carolina before becoming a reporter for the Washington Daily News and Scripps-Howard. His most famous works include 'Uhuru' and 'The Old Man and the Boy,' the latter a classic of outdoor literature. Ruark's writing style blends personal experience with keen observations of nature and human behavior. He spent significant time in Africa, which deeply influenced his work, making him a prominent figure in mid-20th-century American outdoor literature.
