Asif Ali Zardari (born July 26, 1955) is a Pakistani politician who served as the 11th President of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He is the widower of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Zardari rose to prominence after Bhutto's assassination, leading the party to electoral victory and assuming the presidency. His tenure focused on democratic consolidation, anti-corruption reforms, and economic stabilization. Despite controversies, he is recognized for transferring presidential powers to parliament through the 18th Amendment.
