Carol Kendall (September 13, 1917 – July 28, 2012) was an American children's author, best known for her fantasy novels The Gammage Cup and The Whisper of Glocken. Born in Ohio, she studied journalism at Ohio State University and later worked as an editor. Her works blend adventure, humor, and moral themes, earning her a Newbery Honor in 1960. Kendall's books have been translated into multiple languages, inspiring generations of young readers. She passed away in Virginia at age 94.
