Dominicus Corea
Dominicus Corea (1565–1596), also known as Edirille Rala, was a prominent local leader and military commander in 16th-century Sri Lanka (Ceylon) during Portuguese colonial rule. He led a rebellion against the Portuguese and briefly controlled parts of the Kingdom of Kotte. Known for his strategic skills, he was eventually captured and executed by Portuguese forces. His life reflects the complex interactions between indigenous powers and European colonizers in the region.
