Rod Beck (August 3, 1968 – June 23, 2007) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball as a relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, and San Diego Padres. Known for his long beard and powerful fastball, he recorded 286 career saves and was a three-time All-Star. Beck was celebrated for his calm demeanor on the mound and consistent performance in high-pressure situations, making him one of the most reliable closers of the 1990s.
