
Michael Glawogger
Michael Glawogger (December 3, 1959 – April 23, 2014) was an Austrian film director, screenwriter, and producer, best known for his documentaries and feature films. Born in Graz, Austria, he studied film and media studies at the University of Vienna. Glawogger's work often focused on globalization, poverty, labor, and human existence, blending poetic and documentary styles. His notable works include the 'Working Man's Trilogy' ('Megacities', 'Workingman's Death', 'Globalization') and 'Whore's Glory'. He died of malaria while filming a documentary in Liberia in 2014 at age 54. His films won numerous international awards and profoundly influenced documentary art.
