Ricardo Alarcon
Ricardo Alarcón (born May 21, 1937) is a veteran Cuban statesman and diplomat. He served as President of the National Assembly of People's Power from 1993 to 2013, and as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 1993. A key figure in the Cuban Revolution, Alarcón represented Cuba at the United Nations and played a major role in negotiations with the United States on immigration. He was a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba until 2013. Known for his unwavering revolutionary stance and diplomatic acumen, he is considered one of Fidel Castro's closest allies.
