Derrek Lee (born September 6, 1975) is an American former professional baseball first baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, and Baltimore Orioles. Known for his exceptional defense and powerful hitting, he won the National League batting title and a Silver Slugger Award in 2005, and earned three Gold Glove Awards. Lee was a key member of the 2003 World Series champion Marlins. Over his career, he hit 331 home runs and drove in 1,078 runs. After retiring, he has focused on youth baseball development.
