Earl King (February 7, 1934 – April 17, 2003) was an American New Orleans rhythm and blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Known for his distinctive voice and energetic performances, he was a key figure in the New Orleans music scene from the 1950s to the 1960s. His notable songs include "Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)," "Trick Bag," and "Always a First Time," which have been covered by many artists and influenced blues and rock music. King blended blues, funk, and jazz elements, shaping the unique sound of New Orleans. He continued performing locally until his death from diabetes complications in 2003.
