Elaine Chao is a prominent Chinese-American politician and businesswoman. She served as the United States Secretary of Labor under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. Born on March 26, 1953, in Taiwan, Chao is the first Asian-American woman to serve in a presidential cabinet.
