Emperor Wu of Han (156 BC - 87 BC), known as Liu Che, was the seventh emperor of the Western Han Dynasty and reigned for 54 years. He was a strong and ambitious ruler who implemented a series of reforms, expanded the territory, strengthened central authority, and promoted the prosperity of the Han Dynasty. During his reign, Emperor Wu defeated the Xiongnu in the north, conquered the Baiyue in the south, opened up communication with the Western Regions, annexed Gojoseon in the east, and made the Han Dynasty one of the most powerful countries in the world at that time.
