Gudrun Ensslin was a German revolutionary and member of the Red Army Faction (RAF), a left-wing terrorist group active in the 1970s. Born on August 15, 1940, she played a pivotal role in the group's operations. Ensslin was executed on October 18, 1977, along with Andreas Baader and Jan-Carl Raspe, in the infamous Stammheim prison massacre.
