Hal Finney (May 4, 1956 - August 28, 2014) was an American cypherpunk and one of the early supporters and developers of the digital currency Bitcoin. He made significant contributions to the fields of encryption technology and digital currency, and is often referred to as the 'grandfather' of Bitcoin.
