Jim Clyburn is an American politician born on July 21, 1940. Since 1983, he has served as a U.S. Representative for South Carolina and is one of the leaders of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. Clyburn has been actively involved in legislative work on civil rights, economic, and social policies in Congress.
