John Sheffield, 1st Duke of Buckingham and Normanby, was a prominent British politician. He served as Lord Chancellor from 1667 to 1689 and as Lord Chancellor of England from 1689 to 1702. Sheffield is known for his support of William III and Mary II and served as Prime Minister from 1702 to 1710.
