Jomo Kenyatta was a Kenyan statesman and independence leader who served as the first Prime Minister and later as the first President of Kenya. Born on October 20, 1891, in the British protectorate of Kenya, he was a key figure in the struggle for Kenyan independence from British colonial rule. Kenyatta was a prominent member of the Kikuyu ethnic group and his leadership and oratory skills played a significant role in mobilizing the Kenyan people against colonialism. He passed away on August 22, 1978.
