Joseph Howe was a distinguished Canadian journalist and politician. Born on December 13, 1804, in St. Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia, he is renowned for his pivotal role in the reform movement in Nova Scotia and his seminal contributions to the evolution of Canadian journalism. Howe's career spanned more than five decades, during which he published numerous newspapers and was a fervent proponent of responsible government and other progressive reforms. He passed away on June 1, 1873.
