Kublai Khan, the great Khan of the Mongol Empire and the founder of the Yuan Dynasty, was a prominent leader in Chinese history. He unified the Southern Song Dynasty, ending centuries of division, and established the first dynasty in Chinese history to be ruled by a minority. During his reign, Kublai Khan implemented Hanization policies, promoting cultural exchanges between the Mongols and the Han people.
