
Benjamin Hooks
Benjamin Hooks was an American civil rights leader, lawyer, and Baptist minister. Born on January 31, 1925, in Memphis, Tennessee, he passed away on April 15, 2010. As a prominent figure in the civil rights movement, Hooks served as the executive director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) from 1977 to 1992. His work focused on ending racial discrimination and promoting equality for African Americans.
