Xerxes I
Xerxes I, also known as Darius I's son, was the king of the Persian Empire, reigning from 486 BC to 465 BC. He is known for his vast empire and military conquests, most notably the Battle of Marathon and the Battle of Thermopylae in 490 BC and 480 BC respectively. During his reign, the Persian Empire reached the peak of its territorial extent, but his rule is also marked by his invasion of Greece.
