Neville Bonner was an Australian politician who served as a Senator and later as a member of the House of Representatives. He was the first Indigenous Australian to be elected to the Australian Parliament and is known for his advocacy for Indigenous rights and his contributions to the Australian Labor Party. Bonner passed away on February 5, 1999.
