Pope John XXII
Pope John XXII, born Gerald Cavaza, was an Italian who became the 180th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, serving from 1316 to 1334. During his papacy, he made significant reforms to the Church law, including the regulation of papal power and the management of church property. He attempted to unify political and religious affairs in Europe through the power of the Pope, but this effort was not successful.
