Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy (September 5, 1817 – October 10, 1875) was a renowned Russian poet, playwright, and novelist, known for his historical dramas and satirical works. A member of the Tolstoy family, he was a distant relative of Leo Tolstoy. His major works include the historical trilogy 'The Death of Ivan the Terrible,' the satirical 'Kozma Prutkov' series, and the novel 'Prince Serebryany.' His writings blend Romanticism and Realism, reflecting the social contradictions and changes of 19th-century Russia.
