Patrick McGorry (born 1952) is an Australian psychiatrist renowned for his pioneering work in youth mental health and early intervention for psychosis. He is a professor at the University of Melbourne and executive director of Orygen Youth Health. McGorry founded headspace, Australia's national youth mental health foundation, and served as president of the International Early Psychosis Association. He was named Australian of the Year in 2010 for his contributions to medicine and youth mental health. His research focuses on early detection and treatment of mental disorders, particularly schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. McGorry has received numerous awards, including the Order of Australia (AO).
