Robert Urich (December 19, 1946 – April 16, 2002) was an American film and television actor, best known for his leading roles in the TV series 'Vega$' and 'Spenser: For Hire'. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he earned a BA from Florida State University and an MA in communications from the University of Michigan. Urich began his acting career in the 1970s and became a popular figure for his tough yet gentle screen persona. He appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including 'Starsky & Hutch' and 'Touched by an Angel'. He died of bone cancer in 2002 at age 55.
