Saeb Erekat (April 28, 1955 – November 10, 2020) was a prominent Palestinian politician and diplomat. He served as the chief negotiator for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and was a key figure in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Born in Abu Dis, West Bank, he earned a PhD in international relations from Durham University. Erekat was instrumental in the Oslo Accords and the Roadmap for Peace, advocating for a two-state solution. He passed away from complications of COVID-19.
