Salman Khurshid (born January 1, 1953) is an Indian politician, lawyer, and author affiliated with the Indian National Congress. He served as India's Minister of External Affairs from 2012 to 2014, and previously held portfolios including Law and Justice, and Corporate Affairs. Known for his moderate stance on foreign policy, Khurshid advocated for multilateralism and improved relations with neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan. He is also a legal scholar and writer, authoring books such as 'Beyond the Triangle: New Directions in Indian Foreign Policy.' Born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, he studied at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He was a member of the Lok Sabha representing Farrukhabad constituency.
