Schalk Burger (born April 13, 1983) is a former South African professional rugby union player who played as a flanker or number 8. He was a key member of the South African national team, the Springboks, known for his physicality, work rate, and defensive prowess. Burger played for various clubs including the Stormers, Sharks, Saracens in England, and a Japanese team. He was part of the victorious 2007 Rugby World Cup squad, achieving the pinnacle of his career with over 80 international appearances for South Africa.
