Thea Bowman (December 29, 1937 - March 30, 1990) was an African American civil rights activist and educator, a prominent figure in the Black Catholic community, and a leader in the civil rights movement. She was known for her advocacy for racial equality and her efforts to bridge the gap between the African American and Catholic communities.
