Theophane Venard was a French missionary who dedicated his life to the propagation of Christianity in Vietnam. Born on November 21, 1829, he arrived in Vietnam in 1853 and worked tirelessly to establish missions and educate the local population. His life was cut short when he was martyred on February 2, 1861.
