Tim Scott is a United States Senator from South Carolina, a member of the Republican Party. Born in September 1965, he has a diverse career background in business and law. Before entering politics, Scott worked in finance and real estate and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina. As a state senator, he advocated for tax cuts and business development policies. In 2013, he was appointed to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first African American senator in American history.
