Tommy Woodcock (1905 – April 27, 1985) was an Australian horse trainer best known for his deep bond with the legendary racehorse Phar Lap. Born in Victoria, he entered the racing industry at a young age and became Phar Lap's primary trainer and caretaker. His gentle approach and intuitive understanding of horses helped Phar Lap achieve remarkable success, including the 1930 Melbourne Cup. After Phar Lap's mysterious death in 1932, Woodcock continued working in racing but remained haunted by the loss. His story symbolizes loyalty and trust between humans and animals, and he is remembered as a key figure in Australian racing history.
