Tony Greig (October 6, 1946 – December 29, 2012) was a South African-born English cricketer and commentator. Known for his all-round skills and leadership, he captained the England cricket team. Greig played 58 Test matches, scoring 3,599 runs and taking 141 wickets. After retiring, he became a renowned cricket commentator for Channel Nine in Australia, famous for his enthusiastic style. He also played a key role in promoting World Series Cricket, which modernized the sport. Greig passed away from a heart attack at age 66.
