Vern Yip (born June 27, 1968) is an American interior designer, television personality, and author. He is best known as a judge on HGTV's "Design Star" and as a designer on "Trading Spaces." Yip's design style emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and cultural fusion, often blending modern aesthetics with Eastern elements. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in economics before pursuing design at Parsons School of Design. Yip founded his own firm, Vern Yip Designs, and has worked on residential, commercial, and hospitality projects across the United States. He has authored several design books and is actively involved in charitable work, focusing on improving living spaces for underserved communities.
