A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was a distinguished spiritual teacher and philosopher, renowned for his substantial contributions to the dissemination of Hinduism, particularly the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition. Born on September 1, 1896, in Calcutta, India, he passed away on November 14, 1977. Prabhupada is most recognized for founding the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and authoring numerous works on the Bhagavad-gita and other sacred texts.
