Viktor Yanukovych, born on July 9, 1950, is a former President of Ukraine. He began his political career in the early 1990s and was a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine before switching to the independent camp. Yanukovych was elected President of Ukraine in 2004 and 2010, but was forced to resign in 2014 amidst widespread protests.
