Vilna Gaon, full name Eliezer ben Shlomo Zalman, was an 18th-century Jewish scholar, philosopher, and theologian. He played a significant role in Judaism, particularly in the fields of rabbinic literature and Jewish philosophy. Born on April 23, 1720, and died on October 9, 1797, Vilna Gaon was a leader in the Jewish community of Vilnius, Lithuania.
