Walt Kelly was an American animator and cartoonist best known for creating the iconic comic strip "Pogo." In 1948, he launched the "Pogo" comic strip featuring a possum character, which became renowned for its sharp political satire and social commentary. Kelly won the prestigious Reuben Award in 1951.
