Tom Cavanagh (born October 26, 1963) is a Canadian-American actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his lead role as Ed Stevens in the NBC comedy-drama series Ed (2000–2004) and for portraying Dr. Harrison Wells and his various Earth counterparts in The CW superhero series The Flash (2014–2023). Cavanagh's career spans television, film, and theater, with a reputation for blending humor and emotional depth. He has also directed multiple episodes of television. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, he studied biology at Queen's University before pursuing acting.
