Simon Wiesenthal, born on December 31, 1908, in Lviv, Austria-Hungary (now Ukraine), and died on September 20, 2005, in Vienna, Austria, was a renowned Nazi hunter. He dedicated his life to tracking down and prosecuting Nazi war criminals. Wiesenthal was himself imprisoned by the Nazis during World War II and survived the Holocaust. After the war, he established his own investigative organization, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which specializes in tracking and prosecuting Nazi war criminals.
