Francisco Franco, the former Prime Minister of Spain, was a military dictator. Born on December 4, 1892, in Galicia, Spain, he died on November 20, 1975. During the Spanish Civil War, he led the Nationalists against the Republicans. In 1939, the Nationalists emerged victorious, and Franco became the dictator of Spain. His regime was characterized by authoritarian rule and fascist policies. He died in office in 1975, marking the beginning of Spain's transition to democracy. more
