Hugo Chavez, born on July 28, 1954, and died on March 5, 2013, was a former President of Venezuela. After graduating from the Military Academy, Chavez participated in a coup but was captured and imprisoned. After his release, he entered politics and was elected president in 1998. During his tenure, he implemented a series of social and economic policies aimed at reducing the wealth gap. Chavez passed away in 2013. more
