Beauford Delaney was an American painter known for his vibrant and emotionally charged works. Born on December 30, 1901, in Knoxville, Tennessee, he spent much of his life in New York City, where he developed a distinctive style that combined elements of Abstract Expressionism and African American art. Delaney's paintings often depicted urban landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, characterized by bold colors and expressive brushstrokes. He passed away on March 26, 1979. more
